Secure Tangent
organizes "Security Insights 2002"

Thursday, 21 March 2002 - Secure Tangent, one of Malaysia's
leading IT security consulting companies today organized their
inaugural conference on IT security entitled "Security Insights
2002". This half-day event featured local and global experts
on IT security and provided the attendees with a comprehensive
outlook on matters pertaining to IT security.
The Conference began with an address by keynote speaker,
Thomas Peltier, CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security
Professional) on "Why Security Fails" which analysed contributing
factors such as system-failure and human error, and outlined
global best-practices on how to prevent future security breaches.
This was followed by a presentation on "Legal, Forensics and
Evidence Issues Relating to Cybercrime" by Deepak Pillai of
Raghavji & Pillai.
On the technical tracks, Low Kok Leong, CISA (Certified Information
Systems Auditor), Head of Consulting Solutions Group - Assessment
of Internet Security Systems (ISS) Inc, covered critical issues
on why, how and what to do to protect your data assets in
his presentation entitled, "Protecting Your Assets". The concluding
address, delivered by Justin Peltier, CISSP (Certified Information
Systems Security Professional), was a very topical subject
in all IT Security Professionals' minds and is entitled "Linux
and WinX - Which Is Really More Secure?".
